Custom Art Commission Policy
Thank you for your interest in commissioning a custom-designed piece of art. This policy outlines the terms, payment structure, and production timeline to ensure a smooth and transparent process for both parties.
First Things First: The Commission Process
-
All commissions begin with a consultation to discuss your vision, preferences, size, medium, and any reference materials.
-
A quote will be provided based on the scope and complexity of the project.
-
Work will not begin until the required down payment has been received.
It's all about the Benjamins: Payment Terms
-
A non-refundable down payment of 50% of the total project cost is required to secure your commission and begin production.
-
The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion, prior to delivery or transfer of the final artwork.
-
Additional fees may apply for expedited timelines, complex revisions, or special materials.
We have tiny dinosaur arms: The Production Timeline
-
Standard production time is 2–6 weeks, depending on the complexity and size of the piece.
-
A more precise timeline will be provided at the start of the project.
-
Delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances; you will be notified promptly if this happens.
-
Timely communication and approval from the client are required to keep the project on schedule.
Not matching your vision? Revisions & Redesigns
-
Each commission includes one (1) redesign or revision request after the initial concept is presented.
-
Additional redesigns or significant changes beyond the included revision will incur additional fees, determined based on the extent of the changes requested.
-
Minor adjustments (e.g., small color tweaks) may be accommodated at the artist’s discretion without extra charge.
You like it, you really like it! Approval Process
-
A draft or concept will be shared for review before finalization.
-
Once the final design is approved, no further changes can be made without additional cost.
-
Approval signifies acceptance of the work as-is.
Cancel culture strikes again: Cancellation Policy
-
The down payment is non-refundable once work has begun.
-
If the project is canceled by the client after work has started, any completed work remains the property of the artist unless otherwise agreed.
Get your goods: Delivery
-
Final artwork will be delivered in the agreed format (physical or digital) after full payment is received.
-
Shipping costs (if applicable) will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
Got created dinosaurs, god destroyed dinosaurs... Usage Rights
-
Unless otherwise specified, the artist retains the right to display the artwork in portfolios and promotional materials.
-
Commercial usage rights must be discussed and agreed upon separately.
Spit shake- Agreement
By submitting a down payment, the client acknowledges and agrees to the terms outlined in this policy.
